Service Program

At Pres, community service is a core part of our commitment to social justice and leadership. Rooted in the mission of Catherine Spalding, our program emphasizes working for justice in solidarity with marginalized communities, especially the economically poor and women, while also caring for the earth. Service is an essential part of every student’s education, with required service hours integrated into all levels of theology.

Students are responsible for entering and recieving verification of the completed hours on MobileServe using their Pres email account. Students may start service June 1 each school year, and all hours are due early May. Senior service hours are due in December. All service hours must be completed outside of school hours. Hours can be completed over the summer, after school, weekends, or school breaks.

Number of Required Hours:

  • Freshmen: 10 hours of indirect or direct service at non-profit works of mercy agencies

  • Sophomores: 15 hours of indirect or direct service at non-profit works of mercy agencies

  • Juniors: 20 hours of direct service at ONE non-profit works of mercy agency

  • Seniors: 25 hours of direct service at ONE non-profit social justice agency

Our annual Service Fair each spring allows students to learn about local agencies and organizations that are in need of help so that they may choose where they fulfill their service hours.

Please contact our Service Coordinator Amelia Flynn, at aflynn@presentationacademy.org, or a Pres Theology teacher with any questions.
