Come spend the day with a Pres Girl to discover everything Pres has to offer you. You’ll sit in on classes, meet students and teachers, dine in the Pres Café and tour our historic campus.
If you’re an eighth-grader, plan to shadow during the Fall before the High School Placement Test. Seventh-graders begin shadowing in January.
SPECIAL SHADOW DAYS: October 6, 7, & 14
Experience our entire downtown campus! Schedule your 8th grade daughter’s visit on one of the following Special Shadow Days: October 6th, 7th or 14th. Pres Girls take advantage of our location each day. Get a glimpse of how our spot at 4th and Breck is like no other with this optional urban adventure. (Adventure begins at 1:30 p.m. and includes a downtown tour via the TARC Zerobus. Shadows will be ready to head home by 3 p.m. after stopping by Fourth Street Live! for a tasty treat.)
Shadows wishing to participate in the tour must provide a signed permission slip. Download a copy here.
Shadows who opt out will remain at Presentation for the remainder of the day or can be picked up prior to the tour.
How do I schedule a shadowing experience?
Contact Caitlin Maguire, Director of Admissions, at 502-583-5935 ext. 109 or have a parent/guardian fill out the "Schedule a Shadow Visit" form.
What do I wear?
Anything! Well, maybe not anything. Please no short shorts/skirts or midriff-bearing tops. Jeans, sweats, basketball shorts are acceptable––we want you to be comfortable.
What should I bring?
Just yourself. We provide a complimentary lunch at the Pres Café. You’re welcome to bring a lunch from home, but we pride ourselves on having the best lunch in the city. Picky eaters, have no fear. Aside from our main entrée, the Café offers soups, salads, sandwiches, nachos and baked potatoes every day.
What time should I arrive and when should I leave?
You’ll arrive at 7:45 am. This allows enough time to accompany your host to her locker before the bell rings. Your shadowing experience ends at 1:30 pm. If it’s more convenient for you to stay until the end of the school day (3 pm), please feel free to do so.
Where should I go when I arrive?
Please enter through the “Breck Entrance.” This door is located along Breckinridge Street and is marked with a blue awning. Simply ring the bell. Your shadow host and Admissions staff will greet you once inside.
Who will be my host?
Pres will match you with a freshman or sophomore suited to your academic and extracurricular interests. Should you happen to know a current freshman or sophomore, feel free to request her as your host.
