In response to the growing prevalence of personal electronic devices among our student body, Presentation Academy implemented a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program in August, 2012. Based on recent surveys indicating broad faculty and student support for BYOD, we will continue the program for the 2016-17 school year.
Since we attempt to keep our tuition and fees as low as possible, we have chosen not to provide a device for your daughter at an added yearly expense to you. Your one-time purchase can be used all four years to help keep down your expenses. We strongly advise that the girls use an iPad as their chosen device. Electronic versions of textbooks come in many formats and are considerably less expensive than hardcopy textbooks. It has been our experience that all electronic formats are compatible with iPads.
While students are not required to have personal electronic devices for school (loaners are available for those without devices), the following information is provided for those of you who intend to purchase a device for your daughter:
Regardless of whether they have their own devices or not, all students must read, agree to, and abide by the Acceptable Use Policy for Technology, found in the student handbook.
For questions related to our BYOD program or acceptable use policy, please contact Kelly Hartman (email@example.com) or Paula Samuels (firstname.lastname@example.org).
In the spirit of Catherine Spalding and the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Presentation Academy strives to create a diverse community that promotes academic excellence and challenges young women to develop their greatest potential as leaders in a global society.
