Academic Enhancement Course Offerings
1 Credit or ½ Credit – 2 Semesters or 1 Semester
Elective course for 10th, 11th, & 12th grades
Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation and current documentation
This class is designed to help students improve study skills, test preparation, and organizational skills. Students who enroll in this class will receive the support of a teacher each day. Enrollment is limited. This class is Pass/Fail.
½ Credit – 1 Semester
Elective course for 9th grade
Prerequisite: Placement test scores, teacher recommendation, and current documentation
This course will help students retrain their brains for reading, decoding words, memory, maintaining attention, and focus. This class is Pass/Fail.
No credit earned
Prerequisite: Juniors or Seniors who are enrolled in two or more AP classes or students who have an Educational Strategy Plan that is written with current (not more than 3 years old) documentation. This documentation, from a person in the medical field, must identify the disability and be applicable to the student need.
This is time allotted for students to study and / or work on assignments for other classes.
Senior Independent Program (SIP)
1 Credit – 1 Semester or 2 Credits – 2 Semesters
Elective course for 12th grade
Prerequisites: Application and interview required along with teacher recommendations
SIP participants will complete a self-proposed, group-approved individual project based on individual student interest.
Spalding University classes
Presentation seniors who qualify may take classes at Spalding University for both high school and college credit. Classes would be considered elective courses. Additional fees are charged for college credit classes.
