Next Steps to Admissions...
The educational programs at Presentation Academy are designed to provide a solid foundation for all educational experiences beyond high school, but especially for academic success in college. Through a varied curriculum, students are challenged to function at competency levels commensurate with their abilities and interests. They are given the responsibility of organizing their time, and play an active role in obtaining the best education possible. Incoming students entering the ninth grade are admitted based upon the following: 1. Successful completion of the previous school year 2. A recommendation from their eighth grade teacher 3. A satisfactory composite score on the STS High School Placement Test*
*This test is administered at Presentation on the second Saturday of December. Even though it is highly recommended that potential students take the placement test, there are other measures of placing a student in the proper classes if the test is not taken.
Transfer students above the ninth grade level are admitted based upon the following:
1. Their current high school transcript 2. Two letters of recommendation from a teacher or counselor 3. A personal interview conducted by the Presentation principal with the student and her parents
Once a student is admitted to Presentation by the Admissions Committee, their placement in classes is determined as follows:
1. Placement in honors classes is determined by placement test scores and a recommendation from a teacher at their previous school** 2. Placement in higher level courses is determined by a test administered by a teacher in the pertinent subject area**
**All placement is done with parental approval.
Presentation admits students of any race, color, and national and ethnic origin to all the right, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis race, color, or national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, scholarships, athletic and loan programs, and all other programs.
